V. India BIS certification process
1. Application. To obtain BIS certification of foreign manufacturers generally need to use a special application form and prepare relevant documents to BIS headquarters in New Delhi to apply.
2. Records. BIS to check the application documents and information submitted by the applicant to review, if the procedures are complete, the application will be recorded. Applicants must pay the appropriate processing fees.
3. Initial factory inspection: BIS will assign a team of no more than 2 officials to the factory. The applicant shall bear the travel and visa fees and other expenses of the official delegation to the factory inspection and the corresponding inspection fees.
4. Issuance of certificates. If the initial inspection and test results qualified, and the applicant agrees to implement the BIS approved inspection and testing program after certification and pay the BIS logo fee, the applicant can be issued a certificate. The certificate is valid for 1 year. After the certificate is awarded, the licensee must pay the annual logo fee as well as the annual fee for the certificate.
