What is CB Certification
The CB Scheme (CB Scheme) is an international certification system established by the International Electrotechnical Commission for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Products (IECEE) to assist participating countries and certification bodies to establish multilateral agreements for mutual recognition of their respective test reports. The National Certification Body (NCB), which tests your product in an IEC audited laboratory, will issue a CB certificate and CB report document as long as the product meets the standard; customers can submit these documents to the National Certification Body (NCB) of any member state under the CB system to further apply for national certification approval in that country.
CB certification system scope
The products covered by the CB system are those within the scope of the IEC standards recognized by the IECEE system. When three or more member countries declare their desire and support for a standard to join the CB system, the new IEC standard will be adopted by the CB system. The IEC standards used are published in the CB Bulletin and on the IECEE website.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is not included in the CB system, unless specifically required by the IEC standard used. However, the CB system has begun to survey its members about their willingness to perform EMC measurements in conjunction with safety testing. The results of this survey will be published in a CB bulletin on this topic.
The need for CB certification
Getting product safety test results for electrical and electronic equipment accepted globally is the foundation of the CB system. After successful completion of the test, a CB test certificate and a corresponding CB test report are issued for the product. These two documents, when added together, constitute a pass that manufacturers can use to apply for national certification from any national certification body in any participating CB system country or region, usually without the need for additional testing. In addition, when applying for CB certification, you need to inform the country to be considered for inclusion in the report, so that the corresponding national differences are taken into account when testing.
CB system member countries
CB currently has 54 member countries (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States) and members of more than 60 national certification bodies involved in the CB system, designed to provide “one test, one certificate ” conformity assessment model to reduce technical barriers to trade. Members mutually recognized CB test reports and certificates, and as a basis for obtaining national certification.
CB certification product range
CB system covers electronic game devices, test equipment, power supply cables, capacitors and components, lighting, household appliances, protection devices, transformers, office and IT equipment, and medical equipment, etc., a total of 14 categories of 180 kinds of products
Why apply for CB test certificate
CB test certificate for enterprises to facilitate the export of products for the home, office, workshop and similar places of electrical products "directly related to personal safety, these products in a part of the country to implement mandatory certification, that is, after obtaining the country's certificate of compliance, before allowing exports to the country, and sales in the country's market. Even in countries where certification is not mandatory, consumers are willing to buy certified products with the certification mark for their own safety.
Therefore, large department stores also only sell certified products, the price is also higher than the card certified products, as our country sold to Hong Kong businessmen power tools, they have obtained the CB certificate products than non-certified products, the price of each more than 2 U.S. dollars, certified products to protect the personal safety of users, easy to sell and the price is relatively high, in addition, companies selling non-certified products also bear The risk of compensation for losses, once the product is judged to bring consumers personal or property losses, the enterprise has the responsibility to compensate. The occurrence of such accidents will bring adverse consequences to our country in the international market, such products in the international trade will be difficult to find customers. Therefore, not only in the economic loss, but also the loss of credibility.
The benefits of CB test certificate
1. You can convert foreign certification certificates
If you have obtained the CB test certificate and CB test report, you can directly apply for the certification of other countries. The certification body of the country being applied for CB test certificate and report (including reports on national differences) for review (if necessary, a small number of samples), if the review results qualified, you can get the country's certification, without additional testing in accordance with the regulations and procedural rules of the country being applied for. So these applications for certification based on CB test certificates and CB test reports will be given priority over other certification applications and reduce the application cycle and application costs.
2. Can convert the Chinese national certification certificate
According to the CB test report and the difference test issued by the Chinese national product certification report, so as to obtain China's mandatory or other voluntary certification of electrical products.
3. Directly recognized or approved by other countries
With the CB test certificate and CB test report, your products can be exported directly to certain countries.
4. Save cost and time
Domestic enterprises before applying for foreign certification, if you apply for a CB test certificate in the country, because the test is conducted in the domestic CB testing laboratory, not only in the cost of saving a lot, and the turnaround time for sending samples and documents are also saved, domestic enterprises can obtain a CB test certificate as soon as possible;
5. increase the certainty of passing the product test
If the enterprise has obtained CB test certificate, in the application for certification in other countries, all or most of the CB test results are recognized, can be exempted or reduced again to send samples for testing, the same savings in time and costs; more importantly, the application for certification of products in the country has done CB testing, increasing the certainty of the product through the differences in testing.

6、After receiving the notice, the applicant sends samples to the designated CB test laboratory as required by the notice.
CB system in the key steps to remember: the applicant submits a sample of the product to the CB test laboratory to test its compliance with the specific IEC standard, whether it is consistent with any technical requirements used in the IEC standard for the country of certification; CB test laboratory to perform product testing to assess whether the product meets
