What is KC certification in Korea?
KC is a mandatory certification in Korea. All products sold to the Korean market within the scope of KC are required by customs to apply for KC certification! The Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) of Korea announced on August 25, 2008 that the National Standards Committee will implement a new national unified certification mark called the KC Mark from July 2009 to December 2010. Since January 1, 2009, MKE (Ministry of Knowledge Economy) has unified 13 existing certification marks in Korea, such as eK, KCC, KPS, etc., into the KC Mark as the country's national certification mark. Korea is one of the most important industrial countries in the world. In order to gain market access, certain products entering the Korean market must be tested and certified, and KC certification (Korea Certification) is all about preventing and reducing safety, health and/or environmental risks.
The "KC" mark means Korea Certification. The thirteen mandatory legal marks currently used in Korea will be unified into a single national mark. This will simplify the certification process, reduce the cost of certification for manufacturers, and allow the KC Mark to develop into a globally recognized brand.
