FCC Certification Introduction:
FCC is (Federal Communications Commission, the United States Federal Communications Commission www.fcc.gov) abbreviation, FCC certification is a mandatory certification of electronic products into the U.S. market. Involves more than 50 U.S. states, Colombia and U.S. territories.
FCC certification is the U.S. EMC mandatory certification, mainly for 9KHz-3000GHz electronic and electrical FCC certification products, the content involves radio, communications and other aspects, especially radio interference issues of wireless communications equipment and systems, including radio interference limits and measurement methods, as well as the certification system and organizational management system. Products subject to FCC control, such as: personal computers, CD players, copiers, radios, fax machines, video game consoles, electronic toys, televisions and microwave ovens and other products. These products are divided into CLASS A and CLASS B. Class A is for products used in business or industrial use, and Class B is for products used in the home. The FCC has stricter regulatory requirements for Class B products, with lower limits than Class A. For most electrical and electronic products, the main standards are FCC Part 15 and FCC Part 18.
November 2, 2017, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) official release said that in order to simplify the certification process for wireless device equipment and clarify the use of electronic tags specification, DoC & VoC program officially changed to SDoC .
November 2, 2017, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) official release said that in order to simplify the certification process of wireless devices and clarify the use of electronic tags specifications, DoC & VoC program officially changed to SDoC.
1、What is SDoC?
SDoC, that is, Supplier's Declaration of Conformity, equipment suppliers (Note: the supplier must be a local U.S. company) will be in line with the prescribed standards or requirements of the equipment for testing, in line with the provisions of the equipment to provide relevant documents (such as the SDoC declaration documents) to the public to provide proof. SDoC policy simplifies the previous complicated FCC certification requirements, further reducing the burden on enterprises.
2、When will it be mandatory?
From November 2, 2017 to November 2, 2018, this one-year transition period, during this transition period, you can continue to use the FCC VoC and DoC certification process or use the new FCC SDoC certification process can be. After the one-year transition period, the FCC SDoC certification process will officially replace the original FCC VoC and DoC certification methods.
3, the impact on enterprises:
Overall, the FCC SDoC certification process than the original procedure is more simplified and clear, FCC SDoC certification process allows the use of electronic tags and at the same time reduce the cumbersome import declaration requirements. Its purpose is to simplify the current cumbersome and complex FCC certification requirements to further reduce the burden on businesses.
4、What is the impact on the laboratory:
SDoC certification procedures need to issue test reports, not mandatory in the FCC Recognized Accredited laboratory testing, still using the previous test standards. In fact, it greatly relaxed the requirements for the laboratory. For unintentional emission devices, the FCC intends to allow the use of SDoC or Certification method for certification.
5. What should we do during the transition period:
1. through the FCC SDoC certification process of the product will have the autonomy to choose to mark or not mark the FCC logo.
2. SDoC requires the addition of a declaration of conformity document to the accompanying documents of the device, the declaration of conformity should contain: the name, address or contact URL of the local supplier in the United States and other necessary information.
3. the transition period can choose to continue to use the FCC VoC and DoC certification process.
4. the FCC VoC and DoC certification process done before the transition period is always valid, if the product has been modified, it is necessary to recertify.
FCC's main standards
The following, of which FCC PART 15 and PART 18 are most widely used:
FCC standards Applicable scope
FCC PART 15 C/E/F Intentional radiation device testing
FCC PART 18 Industrial, Scientific, and Medical Equipment
FCC PART 22 Public Mobile Communications Services
FCC PART 24 Personal Communications Services
FCC PART 25 Satellite Communication Services
FCC PART 27 Other FCC Wireless Communications Services
FCC PART 68 Telecommunications Terminal Equipment
FCC Part 15 regulates transmitting equipment that is intentional, unintentional, or transient and does not require a personal license for use. It includes technical specifications, administrative requirements, and other market access conditions. There are four main categories of products: unintentional transmitting equipment, intentional transmitting equipment, unlicensed personal communications equipment, and unlicensed national basic information equipment.
FCC Part 18 for industrial, scientific, and medical equipment (ISM) working in a certain spectrum of electromagnetic energy emitted by the regulations to avoid harmful interference from the above-mentioned equipment on the authorized wireless communication services.
The specific steps of FCC certification application entrusted by customers:
1、Customer submits application form (our company provides blank application form);
2、The customer signs a contract with our company for commissioning testing;
3、 Send samples for testing and prepare electrical schematic diagram, external/internal photos, oscillator circuit block diagram, user manual nameplate logo, working principle description, etc. (varies according to the product);
4, after passing the test, FCC SDOC certification form Lixun only issued a report, SDOC statement certificate from the U.S. agent, our company directly issued a certificate of compliance and report, in the case of FCC DOC or ID certification, our company will submit the application information to the FCC authorized issuing agency;
5. enterprises can use the FCC logo on their products after obtaining the FCC certification;
Note: FCC ID certification requires the submission of information list and requirements are as follows:
(1) FCC application form: the application company name, address, contact information, product name and model, the use of standards and other information required to be accurate;
(2) FCC authorization letter: to be signed and sealed by the contact person of the applicant company and scanned into an electronic file;
(3) FCC confidentiality letter: confidentiality letter is the agreement signed between the applicant company and the TCB agency to keep the product information confidential, to be signed and sealed by the contact person of the applicant company and scanned into an electronic file;
4) Block diagram: all crystals need to be drawn, as well as the crystal frequency, and consistent with the circuit diagram;
5) Circuit diagram: must be consistent with the crystal frequency, the number of crystals and the location of the crystal inside the block diagram;
(6) circuit description: required to be in English, the product's function to achieve a clear description of the principle;
(7) instruction manual: required to have FCC warning language;
8) label and label location: the label should have FCC ID number and Statement, the location of the label requires significant;
(9) photos of the product's internal appearance: require clear and concise pictures, with additional remarks if necessary;
(10) test report: require the completion of the test, according to the standard terms of the full range of assessment of the product
