V. India BIS certification process

 

1. Application. To obtain BIS certification of foreign manufacturers generally need to use a special application form and prepare relevant documents to BIS headquarters in New Delhi to apply.

 

2. Records. BIS to check the application documents and information submitted by the applicant to review, if the procedures are complete, the application will be recorded. Applicants must pay the appropriate processing fees.

 

3. Initial factory inspection: BIS will assign a team of no more than 2 officials to the factory. The applicant shall bear the travel and visa fees and other expenses of the official delegation to the factory inspection and the corresponding inspection fees.

 

4. Issuance of certificates. If the initial inspection and test results qualified, and the applicant agrees to implement the BIS approved inspection and testing program after certification and pay the BIS logo fee, the applicant can be issued a certificate. The certificate is valid for 1 year. After the certificate is awarded, the licensee must pay the annual logo fee as well as the annual fee for the certificate.

 

5. post-certification supervision. bis supervises the quality of its certified products through regular supervision of the licensee and unannounced inspections and testing of samples from factories and markets. If the regular inspection, samples taken from the factory or market by the factory inspection and independent testing results meet the requirements, the certificate can be renewed. The licensee submits an application for renewal to BIS by submitting the specified form and the fee for renewal of the certificate is Rs. 500. The licensee also needs to bear the cost of sample inspection.

 

Six, BIS certification needs to submit which technical documents


 

1. application form;

 

2. appointment form to prove the presence of a local agent in India, or supporting documents to prove the manufacturer's office in India, as well as a letter of permission from the Reserve Bank of India;

 

3. documents proving the establishment of the company, such as a certificate of registration;

 

4. process flow diagrams showing the entire process of manufacturing the product, (from raw material to finished product);

 

5. quality control system (e.g. quality manual, quality control plan, testing arrangements, etc.);

 

6. if available, other details of the product or system certification;

 

7. details of the components or raw materials used in the manufacture of the product, if any, prior to certification;

 

8. a list of the machines used in manufacturing;

 

9. a list of test equipment used in the testing process;

 

10. product design drawings;

 

11. qualifications of laboratory supervisors, technical and QC staff and details of their experience;

 

12. test reports from an accredited independent laboratory or the factory's own laboratory;

 

13. a schematic layout of the plant, clearly showing the main production machines, laboratories, etc;

 

14. a schematic diagram of transportation near the factory, from the nearest airport or railway station to the factory, and details of travel from India to the factory;

Seven, India BIS certification fees and cycle:

 

1、Pre-test cycle: 3 working days

 

2、India local testing: 3-4 weeks

Cost depends on the product. Different products certification costs and processes are different. If you need to audit: audit + test + officials travel costs are generally more than 90,000 yuan, the cycle is about 6 months; If you do not need to audit: only send samples for testing, testing costs need to be determined according to the product, generally more than 20,000 yuan, the cycle is 2 months.

 

BIS certification cycle is relatively long, depending on the smooth conduct of product testing and factory audits. Some only need three months, some need six months, some even more than a year. Eight, India BIS certification certificate validity

Nine, India BIS certification notes

 

1. BIS certification is valid for one year, the applicant must pay the annual fee. Before the expiration of the period can apply for an extension, at which time you need to submit an extension application and pay the application fee and annual fee.
