Machinery CE certification overview:

January 1, 1995 onwards, the EU's earliest promulgated Machinery Directive 89/392/EEC began to implement, all exports to the EU market machinery, are required by the provisions of the relevant EU technical regulations, mechanical CE certification plus the symbol of safety permanent CE marking, to prove that the machinery attached to the relevant directives. The current Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC has been implemented since December 29, 2009.

Machinery CE involved in the directive

1. The original machinery directive: Directive 98/37/EC effective date: August 12, 1998; expiration date: December 28, 2009; the current machinery directive: Directive 2006/42/EC effective date: December 28, 2009 .

Standards under the Machinery Directive: EN60204-1:1997 edition was discontinued on June 1, 2009 and was replaced by EN60204-1:2006 edition Safety of machinery-Electrical equipment of machines-Part 1: General requirements (IEC60204-1:2005(modified)), the new version came into effect on January 6, 2009.

2. 2006/42/EC MD - Machinery Directive

3. 2006/95/EC LVD --- Low Voltage Directive

4. 95/16/EC Lift (manned use)

5. 90/396/EEC Gas Directive (with internal combustion engine)

6. 97/23/EC Pressure Equipment Directive.PED

7. Pressure equipment: refers to vessels, piping, safety accessories, pressure accessories. 0.5*105 Pa pressure equipment

8. 94/9/EC Explosion Prevention Directive, etc.

Machinery products exported to the EU to do CE certification, the need to do EMC + LVD + MD three directives, respectively.

They are as follows

1. Low Voltage Directive (LVD) Directive No.: 2014/35/EU, LVD Low Voltage Directive (Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC), the goal of the LVD to ensure the safety of low-voltage equipment in use. The scope of the Directive is the use of electrical products with voltages between 50V and 1000V AC and 75V and 1500V DC. The Directive contains all safety rules for this equipment, including protection against hazards caused by mechanical causes. The design and construction of the equipment shall ensure that no hazards occur when it is used under normal operating conditions or under fault conditions, according to its intended use.

To sum up: the use of voltage for AC in the 50V to 1000V and DC 75V to 1500V electrical and electronic products to do CE certification, are required to carry out the Low Voltage Directive LVD certification.

(Not directly connected to electricity products: rechargeable batteries, data cables, U disk, etc.)

2. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Directive No.: 2014/30/EU

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) refers to the ability of a device or system to operate in compliance with the requirements in its electromagnetic environment and not produce intolerable electromagnetic interference to any equipment in its environment. Therefore, EMC includes two requirements: on the one hand, it means that the electromagnetic interference generated by the equipment to its environment during normal operation cannot exceed a certain limit; on the other hand, it means that the apparatus has a certain degree of immunity to the electromagnetic interference present in its environment, i.e. electromagnetic sensitivity.

To sum up: the CE certification of electrically charged products, are to do EMC Directive certification. 3.

3. Machinery Directive (MD) Directive No.: 2006/42/EC

Machinery described in the Machinery Directive includes a single piece of machinery, a group of machinery with links and interchangeable equipment. Not charged machinery to do CE certification, the need for certification of the Machinery Directive, if the machinery with electricity, generally also need to supplement the mechanical safety LVD Directive certification.

It should be noted that dangerous machinery to pay attention to the distinction, dangerous machinery required to do the CE certification of the notified body.

Machinery Directive core requirements: the structure of machinery must ensure its proper function, under the manufacturer's intended conditions, as long as the machinery is operated in accordance with the provisions, then they can not cause harm to people during operation, commissioning and maintenance. To this end, measures must be taken to exclude all risks of accidents during the expected life of machinery (including assembly and unloading), including the risk of accidents caused by foreseeable abnormalities.

The difference between different machinery CE certification

As ordinary machinery and dangerous machinery certification costs, certification process and its complexity is different, it must be distinguished; in addition to the Machinery Directive (MD) Appendix IV listed dangerous machinery, the other are ordinary machinery, the following is the Machinery Directive (MD) Appendix IV dangerous machinery;

1. circular sawing machine (single or multi-blade), used to process wood and wood-like or processing meat and meat-like materials of the following equipment:

(1) circular sawing machines with a fixed bed or support, with manual feed or equipped with a removable power feed, with a fixed saw blade when cutting;

(2) circular sawing machines with manually operated reciprocating beds or sliding frames with fixed saw blades during cutting;

2. woodworking plane planer with manual feed.

3. single-sided planers with built-in mechanical feeding device for manual loading and unloading, for processing wood

4. band saws for processing wood and wood-like or for processing flesh and flesh-like materials of the following types

a. Band saws having a fixed or reciprocating bed or support, with the saw blade fixed during cutting

b. Band saw machines with saw blades mounted on a reciprocating moving frame;
